A la plage / Seaside

Une des choses que je voulais faire en Belgique cet été c'est emmener Mr Ours à la plage. Je sais, ça n'a pas beaucoup de sens de montrer la mer à un homme qui a vécu toute sa vie à 5 kms de la côte.  Mais la plage aux alentours d'Helsinki (quand il y en a) n'a rien à voir avec celle de Belgique : la plage belge est  droite, très longue à marée basse, entièrement faite de sable, bordée d'une digue très construite ou de dunes, et les vague peuvent être relativement impressionnantes.  La côte finlandaise aux alentours d'Helsinki est au contraire très découpée, il y a beaucoup de rochers et peu de plage, quasiment pas de marée et les vagues sont minuscules. 

Pour notre plus grand bonheur, il a fait beau ce jour-là ; quel plaisir de prendre l'air marin sous le soleil...

One of the things I wanted to do when in Belgium was taking Mr Bear to the seaside. I know, it's a bit nonsensical, showing the sea to someone who's lived all his life about 5kms from the seaside. But the beaches around Helsinki are very different from those in Belgium: the Belgian seaside is straight, the beach is very long at low tide, entirely sandy, almost everywhere ending with a dam (backed with many ugly apartment buildings) or dunes, and waves can be quite impressive. The coast around Helsinki is not straight at all, made of many rocks and few beaches, there is almost no tide and waves are very tiny.

By luck, the weather was beautiful on that day; it's so great to walk in the sand and enjoy the fresh air under the sun...
